Job description

The Sexual Assault Response & Prevention Center (SARP) is seeking a licensed clinician to join our small and dynamic team. This position is for 40 hours per week and currently hybrid. Primary responsibilities for the clinician will be providing psychological and safety assessments, as well as ongoing treatment to BU students who have experienced interpersonal violence or other traumatic events. This position also provides group facilitation, victim advocacy, and accompaniment (e.g., restraining order hearings, Title IX hearings, SANE). This clinician participates in a rotation of 24/7 on-call responsibilities (roughly one out of every four weeks), which includes a reduced number of on-site hours during the on-call week. The on-call duties are only by phone and do not require coming to campus after hours. SARP clinicians work collaboratively on cases and in close consultation with internal and external partners (e.g., BU Behavioral Medicine, BU Financial Aid, nonprofit legal aid). Clinicians also less frequently participate in prevention efforts, including serving as trainers, doing community outreach events, or collaborating on prevention program development. The SARP office is confidential for our clients, and we work from an anti-oppression and empowerment framework. The clinical positions have been designed to prevent and mitigate vicarious stress among the clinicians, including substantial individual supervision, frequent team consultation meetings, and protected time for advocacy and administrative work. SARP services are free to all clients, and we do not participate in insurance billing. SARP Crisis Counselors participate in our intern training program, including supervising trainee counselors. Note: Boston University is a qualifying institution for those seeking Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF).
