The Crewing Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Operations departments to ensure optimal staffing levels for our vessels and supporting various administrative functions. This role involves coordinating crew scheduling and providing essential administrative support. The position will be crucial in maintaining an efficient and well-organized work environment.
The role is flexible in terms of location and can be based at either our Corporate office in Houston, PA or at one of the nearby shipyard locations, such as Georgetown, PA, or Newell, WV
Essential Responsibilities:
- Assist in coordinating crew scheduling and maintaining crew records in company software.
- Work closely with the Operations Department to ensure vessels are adequately staffed with qualified crew members.
- Coordinate crew travel arrangements as directed.
- Ensure all vessel employees complete on-duty documents prior to boarding vessels.
- Work with the Operations Department to ensure personnel arrive at the assigned vessel.
- Verify compensation for extended crew changes and disembarking personnel.
- Assist in tracking crewmembers' compliance with credentialing requirements.
- Ensure strict compliance with company procedures and policies.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Adaptability and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in vessel crewing or related transportation industry.
Physical Capabilities:
- Carry, push, pull or move 10 pounds regularly, or up to 20 pounds occasionally.
- This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
- Ability to sit up to 8 hours per day.
