The Santa Clarita Community College District/College of the Canyons is seeking a short-term, part-time DreamerResource Liaisonin the Undocumented Resource Center (URC).
Under the Interim Director, Diversity and Inclusion, the Dreamer Resource Liaison provides assistance in seeking available financial aid, social services, state-funded immigration legal services, internships, externships, and academic opportunities for all students meeting the requirements set forth in Section 68130.5, including undocumented students.
Example of Duties
We are seeking individuals who can:
Create a safe and supportive space for undocumented students. Assist in referring students to legal, community, financial, and other resources, as necessary.Partner with campus-wide resources/departments (i.e. Student Health and Wellness Center, Financial Aid, BaNC, etc.) to provide additional support for undocumented students. Assist with distribution of subsidy cards to eligible undocumented students.Assist with student events and workshops. Assist with the center’s social media and marketing. Assist with the development of mentorship opportunities to enhance student academic and professional trajectories. Assist with additional educational/leadership opportunities: summer internships, fellowships, scholarships, etc. Assist in students onboarding process and getting acquainted with URC resources and events Assist incoming college students with their college application, residency forms, and financial aid forms.Duties may include but not limited to: Answer phones and direct calls to appropriate staff members. Schedule appointments and facilitate check-ins.Maintain resource materials. Answer general inquiries.Assist with virtual or in-person events. Assist with responding to URC emails and social media messages. Create flyers, social media posts, and infographics to engage with students. Assist with in-reach and outreach efforts. Clerical duties as they are assigned. Travel between Valencia and Canyon Country campus spaces as assigned. Qualifications and Minimum Requirements

The work schedule is based on event timelines and varies depending on the week’s agenda (averaging approximately 16-hours per week).
