- Assigns, supervises, and participates in the work of individuals engaged in the various maintenance, construction, and repair activities including, but not limited to wastewater utility mains, residential sewer services, grinder systems, gravity sewer systems, manholes, and lift stations.
- Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet schedules using knowledge of the capabilities of workers and equipment.
- May be required to operate heavy equipment in the performance of the jobs.
- May be required to work on a crew, if needed.
- Makes inspections to ascertain working conditions, materials needed, and other information relative to the project.
- Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving problems.
- Maintains time and material records and provides monthly reports to division supervisor.
- May require being on the twenty-four (24) hour emergency on-call schedule.
- Other duties as may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
May oversee the work of non-supervisory employees. Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the City's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma. Three (3) years of experience in utility sewer systems maintenance and construction required. Possession of a valid Florida CDL "A" Driver's License required. Possession of valid Florida driver's license and maintenance of clean driving record required.
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, hear, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and stoop, kneel, and crouch, work in close, confined spaces, and work overhead on ladders and platforms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.
