Akira Technologies, Inc. is Hiring a Project Manager Near Washington, DC
Akira Technologies is seeking a Project Manager to help support our government client in modernizing their enterprise information technology services, which is vital to deploying their mission in disaster and relief programs.
This is hybrid work with places of performance in Washington, DC and Round Hill, VA. Ideal candidates are those who can support working at these locations a couple of times a week.
Job Responsibilities:
- Act as a Project Manager and subject matter expert on complex projects, with a focus on cloud computing environments and cloud migration.
- Provide proactive input to internal project teams, consisting of system users, IT resources, functional proponents, and Army communities, to ensure the effective utilization of IT solutions, tools, and processes.
- Collaborate with technical managers, system owners, and program managers to identify mitigation strategies, remediation actions, and recommendation approaches in Plan of Action & Milestone development.
- Provide IT technical support to ensure the successful execution and delivery of technology projects related to our IT systems.
- Work closely with the Government to manage IT project milestones and expectations.
- Create functional and technical documentation that meets the needs of our system’s requirements.
- Produce engineering deliverables, create project plans, and track project progress, making necessary adjustments and corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure technology projects follow established disciplines, involve appropriate resources, undergo review, receive sign-off, and meet project expectations.
- Provide technical expertise for technology projects related to our IT systems.
- Develop and provide technical documents, including plans, specifications, estimates, reports, assessments, etc.
Job Qualifications:
- 5 years of project mgmt. experience, 3 years of Agile experience and IDM project experience.
- Thorough understanding of project management techniques and methods.
- Excellent Knowledge of change management principles.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office; working knowledge of project management software.
- Outstanding leadership and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving ability.
- Experience working in government contracting or familiarity with government processes is a plus.
- Experience working with government systems (i.e., SharePoint) and stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and follow through.
- Ability to adapt and operate effectively in ambiguous or rapidly changing environments.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments.
- Working knowledge and experience of MS Office (e.g. MS PowerPoint, MS Word, MS Excel).
- This is a US government contract and therefore US Citizenship is required.
