• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, Finance, Economics, or another quantitative field
• 5 to 15 years' work experience in managing and/or analyzing credit across sectors and ratings
• Preference will be given to CFA charter holders and/or graduate degree holders

Position may report to either Cincinnati or Grand Rapids Office.
Summary:
The Credit Strategist/Desk Analyst will develop, implement, and oversee a robust quantitative credit analysis and relative value process to support the management of Red Cedar Investment Management's ("RCIM") client portfolios. In conjunction with the senior investment team, s(he) develops credit and relative value models utilized to optimize the total return of client portfolios. The Credit Strategist/Desk Analyst will be responsible for finding value in credit up and down the capital structure, with an emphasis on high-yield ("HY") debt. S(he) would also be responsible for creating a credit/relative value process. This role will entail developing analysis and presenting credit ideas to the investment team. This role will ultimately be responsible for refining and directing the credit process.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Research and Analysis:
• Understand and become proficient in utilizing RCIM's analytical and research platforms
• Provide oversight, monitoring, and reporting on all corporate holdings, including HY and IG
• Develop analytical reports and tools to assist in relative value investment decisions
• Recommend trades to senior portfolio managers
• Provide monthly and quarterly portfolio credit reporting for investment portfolios
• Develop, update, and maintain RCIM's credit models
• Maintain coverage of credit sectors as assigned by senior management
2. Relationships and communication:
• Generate trade ideas and communicate to Sr. Portfolio Managers
• Maintain relationships with street and third-party research analysts
• Facilitate credit analyst calls and communicate with RCIM investment team
• Produce relevant market commentary and publish thought pieces while collaborating with CIO on broad investment strategy
3. Other Duties:
• Complete special projects as assigned by senior staff
• Make regular presentations to investment team regarding credit outlook
• Develop improved functionality as technology permits
• Evaluation and recommendation of research services and selection of data sources
• Moderate travel as necessary to attend industry conferences and client relations
