Position Summary:
The Credit and Collections Coordinator is responsible for initiating correspondence to customers by phone, email and written to collect payments and settle accounts. Updates and maintains accurate customers contact information, receivables and credit records. Reviews and verifies overdue accounts information to help minimize the outstanding debts
Key Responsibilities:
Review customer accounts aging reports on a daily basis to identify delinquent invoices requiring immediate follow-up
Contacts delinquent customers by telephone, email and letters according to collections policies with the highest level of professionalism
Determines the reason for delinquency and works cooperatively with customers to resolve
Thoroughly and accurately documents all collection efforts for each assigned account
Ensures all assigned accounts are managed in a timely and accurate fashion
Notify management of collection disputes and escalations items and provide management with detailed status of aged receivables.
Researches and reconciles customer accounts with discrepancy problems.
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- 3+ Years of Experience in Credit and Collections- Preferably retail (food industries) experience (Walmart, Safeway, Target)
- Good computer systems knowledge and analytical skills
- Advanced working knowledge of Excel
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to manage across functions at various levels
- Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines
- Process-minded with the ability to problem solve, detect patterns, and give advice on troubleshooting
- Highly organized and self-disciplined with a willingness to learn
- Comfortable working in high volume environment and multi-tasking
- Willingness to be a team player
- Ability to embrace change and accountability for tasks
Desired Qualifications:
- 3+ Years of Experience in Credit and Collections. Retail (food industries) experience (Walmart, Safeway, Target)
- Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate up and down the organization
- A passion for learning and a craving to work in a fun culture
- Ability to effectively and appropriately interface with a variety of individuals or groups on a frequent basis
- Strong attention to detail
- Critical thinking and problem solving
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Self-motivated and dependable
- Ability to work well under pressure
- ERP systems knowledge. JDE Edwards is a plus
