Summary: Manage a Credit and Collection team and activity in fast pace, high volume work environment with a strong focus on customer service. Analyze account status of customers and take appropriate steps to collect amounts owed. Analyze credit levels and credit status for current and prospective customers. Work together professionally as a team with Credit & Collection direct reports and with other departments within the Company such as Sales and Order Processing.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Management of department personnel including mentoring.
· Participate as a key member of the department during the busy season participating in cash application, collections, reconciliation, etc.,
· Active monitoring and maintenance of customer accounts, identifying focus areas for collection efforts, credit limit changes, etc.,
· Manage escalated issues in a comprehensive and timely manner.
· Manage collection agency relationship and all activity to and from the agency.
· Identify process improvement opportunities to optimally manage volume and accelerate collections.
· Develops and maintains department policy and process documentation.
· Manage information to and from industry resource ASI.
· Assist accounting with month-end close of the AR module, including subledger to GL tie out and research as necessary.
Skills/Experience/Education
· 3-5 years High Volume corporate collections experience.
· Knowledge of Billing and Collections procedures.
· Credit and Collection certifications preferred.
· Experience with credit card method of payment and best practices.
· Strong attention to detail and goal oriented.
· Experience with integrated ERP system; NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics AX - a plus.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word and Excel).
· Commitment to excellent customer service.
· Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
· Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities.
· Supervisory experience and track record of successfully leading a department.
