As the largest, exclusive firefighter credit union in the nation with $2.0B in assets, we serve over fifty-five thousand members in more than seven hundred fire departments.
Currently, we have an immediate opening for a Collector to join our team, reporting into our corporate office located in Pasadena, CA.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Locating and managing member assets, making necessary adjustments to member accounts.
- Performing collection activities such as communicating with members through various channels regarding past due loans and negative share accounts.
- Preparing documentation for repossessions and liquidate collateral to recover outstanding debts, mitigate financial risk and safeguard the interests of FFCU.
- Preparing documentation that is clear and defined which can be referenced for assigning debt to collection agencies, filing legal actions, or garnishing wages.
- Protecting FFCU assets, securing repayment as appropriate, and monitoring accounts up to dismissal, discharged or repayment period by recognizing the credit risk, clarifying/prioritizing the problem and implementing an action plan.
- Engaging with members proactively to initiate and sustain positive relationships, while fostering clear and effective communication.
Basic Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or GED.
- Experience in one or more of the following: guest relations, sales, customer service, account management or banking.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience with financial institution
