The Credit Analyst will join the CLO team and focus on the US Leverage Loan markets. The team assists Portfolio Managers across the different pools of credit funds in making investments decisions. Responsibilities include carrying out qualitative & quantitative analysis of potential primary & secondary investment opportunities (supported by full financial models and detailed credit papers) and helping monitor investment portfolios of corporate credits (including coverage financial results & responding to news flow). The Credit Analyst will be an active member of the investment team, working alongside senior professionals on the trading floor with opportunity to contribute throughout the investment cycle.
Specific responsibilities
- Carry out detailed financial analysis of US sub investment-grade corporate credit securities including in-depth assessment of business models and investment risks
- Build detailed cash flow models
- Develop in-depth knowledge of select sectors
- Assist in monitoring existing investment portfolios, including reviewing company reporting and benchmarking relative value opportunities
- Take part in meetings with corporate borrowers (including Management), attend conferences and develop relationships with capital markets teams at Wall Street investment banks
- Prepare investment committee materials
Key competencies
- Bachelor's degree (MBA or progress toward CFA Charter a plus)
- 5+ years of experience in financial markets with a focus on leveraged finance, credit analysis or published investment research
- Strong analytical and financial modelling skills
- Good knowledge of leverage finance documentation including public and private instruments
- Communication, organization and presentation skills together with the ability to multitask and deal confidently with senior stakeholders across the firm
Base Salary Range: The anticipated based salary range for this position is $150,000-$170,000 + benefits + a discretionary bonus. This is the base salary range that the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting based on the location and requirements of the position as well as the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant.
