Offshore Crane Operator
SUMMARY
Responsible for loading, unloading and moving materials on a work site using a crane in a safe manner. With five years direct certified Crane Operator experience offshore in construction platform.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Must be able to operate the crane to lift, move and position machinery, equipment, products or other large objects.
- Uses proper hoisting attachments and observes the load before movement occurs to ensure that it is secure.
- Compares load weight with the capacity of the crane in order to prevent over loading.
- Performs a pre-inspection: check oil, grease machine, check water, check air in tires and check fuel on any equipment operated.
- Assists in the maintenance and routine housekeeping of the work area and equipment being used to ensure a safe working environment.
- Safely manipulates crane controls including pedals, levers and buttons to regulate speed and direct crane to appropriate destination while effectively communicating with everyone via written, oral and/or signaled instructions.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Foreman/Supervisor/Superintendent.
EXPERIENCE
- At least 5 years crane operating with a minimum of 3 years working in the Oil and Gas industry.
- Hydraulic and Friction crane operating experience in Shipyard or Fabrication Yard.
LICENCES/CERTIFICATIONS
- Must be NCCER/NCCCO certified as a Crane Operator through a third party certifier.
- Must be able to successfully complete all required training by PES.
