Position overview
As a key member of the QSE Team, the CPSNA Safety Manager will drive the safety strategy with Atlanta Beverage Base Plant, Caribbean Refrescos and CPSNA CDC leaders and key focus areas to improve safety performance, have the right priorities, expertise and initiativesto achieve our vision of "Zero is Possible". This will include the implementation of needed processes, programs, metrics, and technologies to deliver safety performance results.
Lead, coordinate and implement the Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene and Property Loss Prevention Management programs in compliance with federal and state regulations and corporate requirements. Provides advice, guidance and management on all matters relating to Health, Safety & Security, ensure a safe and healthy workplace, and enable compliance with local regulations and standards.
This leader will benchmark internally and externally, leverage best-in-class systems and processes for system integration, collaborate across functions, be result oriented, be a self-starter and creative, have constructive curiosity, and will bring innovative solutions to the table, knowing that "one size does not fit all." Should be proficient in influencing and driving change through engagement with all levels of the organization.
Function Related Activities/Key Responsibilities
  • Continuously improve the management system to satisfy ISO 45001 standard, KORE Requirements, and local regulations:
    • Review and update frequently risk assessment
    • Assure regulatory and KORE compliance assessment and drive robust action plans.
    • Actively engage with relevant stakeholders
    • Develop annual safety program in collaboration with other plant functions, track its roll out as planned.
    • Ensure Safety inspections are conducted and documented.
    • Support robust change management program: as an example, align engineering design and maintenance input and support for all facility process to ensure Safety by design.
    • Review and improve related procedures and standard work instructions.
    • Lead and/or deliver general training to new associates, contractors and/or temporary personnel and technical trainings to assure capabilities are developed within the organization.
    • Measure site safety performance and ensure appropriate reporting to leadership. Analyze trends and use them to drive relevant strategies and for predictive analysis. Ensure safety data are reported accurately and timely.
    • Perform internal audit program to keep improving the system and ensure site audit readiness for ISO, GAO audits.
    • Develop an annual Occupational Safety Business Plan, track, and assure it is completed as planned.
  • Develop emergency and incident management plans, training and co-ordinate with onsite management and off-site emergency services and exercises.
  • Develop injury and illness prevention plan, conduct incident investigations, document, and track safety performance, ensure appropriate reporting to leadership, CPS safety lead and government agencies as required. Use the TCCC reporting system (KOSMOS), to analyze trends and use them to drive relevant strategies.
  • Develop and manage plant security programs in accordance with company standards and local requirements including key areas of electronic systems (Access control, perimeter detection, fire protection), manned guarding, contractors, and visitors.
  • Manage Safety budget, recommend cost savings and proactively negotiate with vendors and suppliers.
  • Collaborate and benchmark internally and externally to ensure safety programs, guidelines and tools remain current and reflect the latest thinking, and to share best practices.
  • Build a strong safety culture starting with leadership team, general manager, and frontline leaders.
  • Maintain open communication and relationships within all level of the organization including other CPS location Safety colleagues, CPS QSE Leadership Team, external government agencies and key stakeholders.
  • Ensure dynamic CPS OSH communication within our network to standardize processes, drive priorities, show case best practices, share learnings in case of incidents.
  • Contribute to CPS QSE Management System development, improvement and ensure integration/standardization.
  • Judgment and decision-making regarding associates' exposure in the operation of equipment and processes to ensure they are not exposed to hazards that could cause personal injury, selection, and use of personal protective equipment.
  • Advise senior management on strategies for Facility Fire Prevention & Protection, to ensure compliance with Corporate & Insurance requirements, and to minimize financial loss of assets due to fires.

Occupational Health and Safety regulations Occupational Health and Safety regulations (ISO 45001), Environmental regulations (ISO 14001), Quality regulations (ISO 9001), Food Safety and Defense regulations (FSSC 22000).   • Management Expertise

Strong experience in technical team leadership role collaborating and managing teamwork, good communication and presentation skills for all personnel levels. Ability to interact with cultural differences between global regions.
Education requirements & related work experience
  • Bachelor's/Master's degree, in Occupational Health and Safety or relevant technical area,
  • 7+ years in Safety experience, with preference in managing teams and workplace safety.
  • Project management knowledge and experience.

Pay Range:
$120,000 - $149,000
Base pay offered may vary depending on geography, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position, is offered.
