The Court Specialist (Office Specialist) is responsible for the financial, technical, administrative and clerical aspects of the Municipal Court Clerk’s Office. Duties include: data submission to the appropriate governmental or regulatory agencies; jail bill reconciliation; processing of daily deposits, bankruptcy, expungements, warrants, Kansas Open Record Requests, judicial correspondence; coordination of court interpreters, court appointed attorneys and pro tern judges.
Primary duties include:
- Accurately process all overdue functions for the court daily, including but not limited to the issuance of warrants and license suspensions.
- Performs quality checks on dockets in a timely manner to ensure accurate processing of judicial orders.
- Review cash, surety and own recognizance bonds and process forfeitures and exoneration.
- Reconciles the monthly jail invoice and transmits reconciliation to the appropriate parties in order to provide accurate and timely payment of invoices.
- Process inmate paperwork, reports and mugshots from Shawnee County Department of Corrections daily.
Minimum qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent. Two years of experience in clerical work required. One year of supervisory or office management and accounting-related experience is preferred. Must possess and maintain a valid KS driver’s license and City-insurable driving record.

Minimum entry rate of pay: $20.97 per hour
