The role sits within Global Wealth Management (GWM), a Division of Citi focused on serving the needs of clients across the entire wealth spectrum. It has been created by combining the Wealth Management businesses across Citi Global Consumer Bank and Citi Private Bank. It serves over 500,000 clients through its global footprint in Asia, EMEA, Mexico, and North America.
Job Background/Context
We are looking for strong candidates to drive execution of Project Cardinal, a strategic banking and lending partnership between Citi and a large national Broker Dealer. Project Cardinal is a long term, multi-product, platform, and technology initiative that requires product development, extensive cross-functional coordination, and significant technology buildup. The strategic partnership is part of our Citi Alliance business, which targets distribution of banking and lending products and services through Independent Financial Advisors, Broker Dealers, Wealth Firms, Tech Platforms and Financial Intermediaries. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to our growing business from the start, benefiting from Citi's considerable strengths and footprint in serving affluent and HNW clients.
The role sits within the Portfolio Solutions Team, serving as a critical component of our First Line of Defense for Counterparty Credit Risk (CCR) management, working with our Independent Risk partners to ensure best-in-class risk and controls, as well as client responsiveness. The role will focus on the execution of Project Cardinal and specifically on:

  • Defining and implementing CCR portfolio risk metrics and analytics for clients onboarded as part of Project Cardinal.
  • Defining and implementing best in class stress testing and methodologies for the portfolio.
  • Manage and sponsor CCR models for CGW and liaison with the relevant Risk teams for the Model Governance processes and procedures.
  • The scope of responsibilities and scale of this team will evolve over time to continue to meet our needs.

Key responsibilities:
  • As CCR PS' VP for Citi Alliance-Cardinal, the candidate will act as global coordinator for CCR metrics and data systems' remediations, to influence change throughout organization and work with business users to gather business requirements and draft and co-ordinate approval for Business Requirement Documents (BRD).
  • Oversee completion of key deliverables and projects for Project Cardinal including the enhancements of the stress testing infrastructure and portfolio metrics.
  • Support the integration of the Project Cardinal clients and exposures into CGW risk management processes.
  • Support and drive multiple regulatory and control priorities including responding to Regulatory, Audit and FCR's findings remediation.
  • Partner with the established CCR functions of Citigroup to align and streamline CCR risk management processes, risk measures, systems, data and reporting for CGW portfolio risks, including leveraging the enhancements coming out of the Transformation workstreams such as the Wholesale Credit Program and Consent Order deliverables.
  • Interpret the local and global strategy and support the execution of frameworks, programs, and technological solutions.
  • Accuracy and completeness of Credit Data: ensure that data captured in our Counterparty Credit infrastructure are in-line with the approvals and conform best in class standards.
  • Coordinates with our partners in ICM, Risk, Compliance, Legal, Operations and Technology as required.

Work experience and competencies:
  • At least 5 years of relevant professional experience performing similar tasks in a Credit or Counterparty Risk Management function.
  • Strong quantitative skills, particularly with respect to Counterparty Credit Risk metrics and calculations
  • Stress testing knowledge is desirable.
  • Working knowledge of securities financing transactions and derivative products.
  • Excellent analytical background and skill set to understand complex processes, including system data flows.
  • Data analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of a programming language, preferably Python.
  • Tableau knowledge is desirable.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Excellent people skills: ability to interact successfully with business partners and technology teams.
  • Good project management skills.
  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office - particularly Excel (metrics and data analysis), PowerPoint (presentation decks), and Word (writing and editing procedural and technical documentation).

Education:
  • Post-graduate education in Economics, Finance, Financial Risk Management, or other quantitative discipline preferred.
