Key Qualifications

  • Perform assessment, clinical evaluation and comprehensive assessment and develop and conduct individualized treatment plans.
  • Counseling: Work with individuals and groups to provide counseling, education, and emotional support. Help clients understand the root causes of their addiction, develop coping strategies, and address behavioral patterns related to Substance Use. Individualize therapy sessions allow counselors to tailor treatment plans to each person’s unique needs.
  • as support groups, programs, and other community-based services. Coordinate various aspects of a client’s treatment and recovery journey.
  • Education and Prevention: Play a crucial role in preventing addiction by educating individuals about the risks associated with Substance Use. May conduct workshops, seminars, or educational sessions in schools, workplaces, or community centers. Raise awareness about the impact of addiction on physical health, mental well-being, and relationships.
  • Support and Empathy: Building trusting relationship with clients is for effective counseling. Offer empathy, compassion, and a nonjudgmental attitude. Provide emotional support during challenging times and celebrate clients’ progress toward recovery.
  • Providing non-medical clinical care to clients in residential facilities.
  • Passionate and self-motivated, with excellent organizational and time management skills.

Description

The candidate should have strong interpersonal skills while guiding and providing the clients with their basic needs and other resources to support them in their daily life. They maintain the safety of the community by enforcing safety guidelines and procedures for the residents’ compliance, organizing productive and engaging community activities, updating the residents of any changes and policies in the community, and resolving conflicts by counseling and understanding each client's differences. A residential counselor must have excellent communication and decision-making skills to ensure the development of residents in a living facility and have the ability navigate a highly optimized and specialized environment where priorities may shift daily while working autonomously, taking initiative, and complete tasks you are responsible for. You will have a deep background in reporting standards and norms, compliance, strong written and verbal communication, and a deep understanding of the medical/nursing landscape.


Education & Experience

  • Minimum two (2) years paid experience of providing direct substance abuse counseling services in an intensive setting under supervision.
  • At least two years’ experience as Counselor or equivalent.
  • Current RADT, CADC, CAADE and CCAP or equivalent certification; understanding, knowledge and experience in the area of drug, alcohol and opioid treatment and recovery.
  • Current CAADE, CCAPP, or BBS certification/ licensed required.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented environment demonstrating positive demeanor regardless of changing work conditions.
  • Meticulous attention to detail & strong ability to retain and contextualize information.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English (preferred)

Pay & Benefits

At Janus, base salary is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $23.00 and $31.00 per hour and your base pay will be considered on your job-related skills, training, qualifications, experience, and relevant education.
