Job Description
About the role
Reporting to the Senior Treasury Manger, Capital Markets this role supports the day-to-day activities related to Amcor’s capital structure, funding strategy, debt covenants and accounting, SOX compliance, PwC audits, and key stakeholder reporting such as board papers, monthly management reporting and external reporting (i.e. SEC Filings and FBAR). This includes but is not limited to transactions in the debt and equity Capital Markets, share buy-backs, interest rate hedging and interest expense management.
Key Job Accountabilities
Capital Markets
  • Provide analytical support to help determine the size, tenor, and currency of debt and equity capital market transactions
  • Support debt and equity transactions in areas such as scenario modelling, business/legal/finance due diligence
Funding Strategy
  • Work on funding plan analysis to support Amcor’s objectives (leverage, debt/equity mix, liquidity needs, interest expense)
  • Supports Value-at-Risk (VaR) model to help define optimal hedging strategies for Amcor (FX, interest rate, commodities)
CAPEX Management
  • Update and distribute Amcor’s internal hurdle rates used for CAPEX, M&A evaluation, as well as discount rates used for impairment testing purposes
Interest Rate Management
  • Support the implementation of the interest expense management strategies
  • Ensuring net interest expense is reported in a timely manner and continuously develop methods to improve analysis
  • Support the Senior Manager in preparing Amcor’s interest rate exposure and budget to minimise net interest costs and maximise opportunities by implementing various interest rate risk management strategies
  • Support the Senior Manager in maintaining Amcor’s interest expense model
Treasury Financial Reporting
  • Own the preparation of underlying materials for the Global Treasury monthly management report (MMR)
  • Prepare supporting materials relevant for board papers on treasury matters
  • Support the Senior Manager in preparation of supporting materials for all financial statement disclosures for quarterly and full year accounts around treasury and financial risks (SEC reporting)
  • Respond to requests from internal and external auditors
  • Prepare relevant reporting for debt and credit facilities financial covenant compliance
  • Create/Update/Maintain standard operating documents with support from the Senior Manager
  • Support the company’s annual FBAR filings exercise and ensure required information is maintained throughout the year.
Systems & Processes
  • Maintain and further enhance systems and processes within the region.
  • Lead systems automation efforts and ad hoc projects
  • Assist as an in-house expert in maintaining and improving processes and functionalities related to Amcor’s debt management in Treasury Management System (TMS)
Knowledge & Relationship Management – to advance the profile of treasury through enhancing knowledge and fostering working relationships. This includes:
  • Foster relationships with internal and external personnel, including other Amcor departments such as Tax, Accounting, Legal, Procurement, local commercial and finance personnel and external personnel, including banks, advisers and auditors.
  • Continuously improve the function and build its profile within Amcor through the provision of training and communications, systems developments and enhancements.
  • Analyze leading trends and practices in Treasury management for the application to Amcor businesses
  • Provide insight by staying up to date on banking, macroeconomics, technology and other trends impacting the treasury profession.
Safety
  • Lead by example and by following all safety procedures, using acceptable safe work practices and by setting high safety standards.
  • Identify and control hazards in your work area and consult with a Health & Safety representative.
Qualifications/Requirements
  • Advanced Excel Modeling Skills (formulas, pivots, macros)
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
  • 5+ years of treasury or similar finance role.
  • 2+ years’ experience working in a publicly listed corporation with exposure to external reporting
  • Professional certification such as CTP, CPA preferred or commitment to obtain CTP certification
  • Fluent in English (written and oral)
  • Strong work ethic with a determination and desire to work hard is indispensable.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Extremely organized with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well within a team.
  • Solid Analytical skills.
  • A drive and culture for excellence is essential.
  • Curious, able and interested in learning.
  • Ability to manage in a decentralized organizational structure and work well with co-workers in other locations, time zones and of diverse cultural backgrounds.
