Purpose and Scope of Job:
To increase SMA market share in designated industry by developing brand preference among key industry decision-makers. Responsibilities will include managing and delegating project leads and developing product features for the Intralogistics industry.
Essential Functions (other duties may be assigned):
- Identify future customers and focus on long term business growth in the Intralogistics industry
- Solicit all SMA power transmission products and services with a goal of specification/preference
- Drive visibility and name awareness to large End Users at corporate HQ, divisional and regional levels
- Drive visibility and name awareness to industry Consultants as required
- Track market and industry trends
- Perform market analysis and develop strategic plans and projections for the assigned industry
- Represent SMA to industry associations, professional organizations, and distributor organizations.
- Provide quarterly industry performance reviews (dashboard)
- Develop industry-specific product features
- Participate in regular Strategic Sales team meetings as required
- Communicate plant level involvement transparently to DM
- Work with cross-functional teams to successfully execute strategies through the Marketing and Sales organizations
- Communicate activities to executive management in written, verbal, and presentation media
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business or engineering, or equivalent experience.
- MBA would be strongly desired.
- Proven experience in the Intralogistics industry and strategic industrial sales.
- Considerable experience with strategy development and budget management.
- Must be proactive, outgoing, self-motivated and self-directed with a strong record of sales/market planning, client development, and follow through and overcoming barriers to sales.
- Strong written and oral communication skills required. Ability to adapt to audience and project competence and confidence when speaking to range of audiences and groups.
- Demonstrated technical proficiency in strategic selling disciplines.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Must be able to perform a considerable amount of travel (50-75%).
- Membership in multiple industry organizations is preferred.
