We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual to join our team as an HR Generalist & Compliance Specialist. This position will have an added emphasis on HR Labor Laws specifically in the states of Washington, Oregon, and California. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our company's success by managing both HR functions and ensuring compliance with all relevant employment laws and regulations.
Responsibilities:
HR Generalist Functions:
- Administer various HR processes including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and employee relations.
- Coordinate employee benefits programs and ensure accurate and timely administration.
- Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on HR policies and procedures.
- Assist in developing and implementing HR initiatives to enhance employee engagement and retention.
- Maintain accurate employee records and HR databases.
Compliance Management:
- Stay up to date with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
- Develop and update HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks to reflect current legal requirements.
- Conduct audits and assessments to identify areas of non-compliance and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with legal counsel as needed to address complex compliance issues.
- Deliver training sessions to employees and managers on compliance-related topics.
HR Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare regular reports on key HR metrics and compliance indicators.
- Analyze HR data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Make recommendations to management based on data insights to enhance HR practices and compliance efforts.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. (Master’s degree or HR certification is a plus). Equivalent experience will be considered.
- At least 3 years of experience in HR generalist roles, with a focus on compliance.
- Thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and trends.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Detail-oriented and organized, with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and MS Office suite.
Reports to:
This position will report directly to the Director of Business Operations and works closely with both the Director of Business Operations and the Onboarding/Payroll Specialist. Candidate must be extremely organized and excellent at multi-tasking working with multiple hotels, management teams and separate employment teams in multiple states.
