Corporate Director of Quality Assurance
(Long Term Care Faciltiies Throughout the state of Ohio)
Salary: Up to $160K year (depending on experience)
Position Requirements:
- Must be SMQT Certified
- Must have previous and/or current experience as Federal State Surveyor
- Must have long term care experience
Job Responsibilities/Description:
- Participates in onsite complaint investigations and surveillance activities in the field when requested.
- Performs onsite survey activities in accordance with federal policies and procedures and at the direction of the team leader.
- Assures that all information gathered during survey is based on thorough interviews, observations, and clinical and other pertinent document reviews.
- Participates in interdisciplinary survey discussions, arriving at decisions through team consensus.
- Conducts investigations of resident and facility complaints at direction of the team leader and program managers.
- Provides direction in the appropriate interpretation and application of federal and state regulations at the discretion of the program director, program manager and team leader.
- Assists other surveyors in clarifying resident/patient medical issues and identifying standards of nursing and medical care to ensure facility compliance with state and federal regulations while working collaboratively with the Complaint Team Manager and survey team members to ensure that surveys are conducted in accordance with Long Term Care Program standards and CMS survey process.
- Engages in daily activities to maintain Quality Assurance for the nursing home and complaint team surveillance programs.
- Assists in pre-survey review of complaint investigations.
- Organizes abbreviated survey case files, opens, and closes abbreviated survey files utilizing the ASPEN/Complaints/Incidents Tracking System, ASPEN and ASE-Q as well as Microsoft Word.
- Assists in maintaining Complaint Tracking Logs.
- Summarizes investigations (abbreviated surveys) for reporting purposes in accordance with federal principles of documentation. Closes complaints with letters following supervisory review.
- Participates in other surveillance activities, including federal and state training programs.
- Responsible for responding to provider and complainant inquiry from the CNYRO designated complaint team phone line - returning calls to complainants via this line.
- Responds to requests from the Office of the Attorney General as necessary and assists in maintaining file of complaints awaiting supervisory review and closure.
