PRIMARY JOB FUNCTION
The Corporate Communications Specialist drives consistent delivery of messaging that conveys The Commerce Way, through implementation of internal and external communication strategies and technological tools. This role requires strong verbal and written communication, creative presentations, and collaborative engagement.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with executives and department leaders, under direction from the CAO, to prepare and deliver written product or verbal presentations internally and externally to educate and/or promote corporate culture, execution of strategy, and general business communications.
- Reviews, edits and finalizes material to ensure content is publication-ready; prepares professional and creative presentations via PowerPoint, Canva or other related tools; prepares professional and creative company literature including but not limited to correspondence, reports, emails, executive bios, and profiles.
- Represents the Company in a variety of settings internally and externally, always promoting the Company in the best possible way.
- Acts as a champion for and subject-matter expert in the Company's Strategic Planning Program, Center of Excellence (COE), The Commerce Way, and Golden Circle/Why Purpose; communicates and clarifies the organization's mission, vision, and values, setting the tone for communication across the company.
- Partners with the CAO and the COE to develop and document The Commerce Way; conducts interviews to document profiles, processes, and leadership methods; regularly update and maintain The Commerce Way product.
- Understands the various components of the business in order to communicate business needs; establishes collaboration practices, encourages thought-leadership projects, communicates the Company's culture goals through internal communications and one-on-one engagement.
- Coordinates attendance at conferences, meetings and special events; conducts research, prepares agendas, drafts speeches or talking points for CAO or other executives in preparation for meetings.
- May perform additional job duties as needed or directed by CAO.
QUALIFICATIONS
Work Experience Required: 3-5 years of increasing experience in corporate or business setting, with specific experience in communications or administration.
Education: Bachelor's degree in communications, management, marketing, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Knowledge Required: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Copywriting and editing experience in a corporate environment. Must be able to collaboratively and professionally partner with employees of all levels. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite. Experience in communicating using various platforms such as Confluence, Jira, Teams, Zoom, Canva, Smartsheet. Must understand and comply with Company and departmental policies and procedures; be an ethical decision maker; self-motivated. Excellent organization and time-management skills. Ability to think creatively.

Commerce Casino operates 24 hours, 7 days a week. Schedules may vary depending on business needs.
