Financial Reporting & Corporate Accounting Manager

We are recruiting for a Financial Reporting/Corporate Accounting Manager for our corporate team. In this role you will apply principles of accounting to record and analyze financial information and prepare financial reports for real estate portfolios, perform Investment and Corporate Accounting tasks for real estate assets and investment level entities.
Your Mission
• Assist in the month end closing and Financial Reporting process including account analysis and reconciliations.
• Manage annual external financial audits and drafting of financial statements.
• Manage and develop direct reports and staff within the Financial Reporting team, providing leadership, as well as the setting of appropriate department goals and objectives.
• Identify gaps in the knowledge of team members and to put in place training systems and processes to ensure the entire team can operate as an effective unit, providing the highest level of support to this post and to its customers.
• Deal effectively with ambiguous and unstructured problems and situations.
• Initiate open and candid coaching conversations at all levels.
• Move easily between big picture thinking and managing relevant detail.
• Anticipate stakeholder needs, and develop and discuss potential solutions, even before the stakeholder realizes they are required.
• Leverage technology to improve the operational performance, insightfulness, and risk intelligence across the enterprise.
• Navigate the complexities of cross-border and/or diverse teams and engagements.
• Initiate and lead open conversations with teams, clients, and stakeholders to build trust.
• Prepare and/or review monthly consolidated financial statements in accordance with US GAAP, ensuring all balances are properly stated and supporting schedules are accurate and complete, including:
• general ledger review
• monthly journal entries
• consolidation worksheet
• balance sheet account reconciliations
• P&L account schedules
• variance analysis.
• Assist in preparation and review annual corporate entity budgets and weekly/monthly/annual forecasts
• Coordinate with internal and third-party colleagues (development accountants, project managers, auditors, attorneys, bankers, property managers, etc.) to ensure timely and accurate information flow, reporting and issue resolution.
• Prepare and review support schedules to assist with U.S. GAAP audit, U.S. tax return preparation/filing, and other compliance reports as required.
• Review of A/P coding and descriptions on invoices and expense reports.
• Prepare and review investor communications including capital call and distribution notices.
• Other duties as assigned.
Your Track Record
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, CPA or CPA candidate preferred
• 5 years of accounting experience; at least three years in public accounting
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
• Yardi Voyager experience preferred
• Ability to work with minimum supervision while understanding the necessity of clear communication and coordination
• Background in development or construction accounting a plus
