Kalkomey is seeking a motivated and skilled copywriter with strong storytelling, narrative, and script-writing skills to help grow our footprint within the outdoor space through brand campaigns, creative, and content. As a Copywriter, you will be responsible for creating compelling headlines and content that will be used across various marketing channels, including but not limited to websites & blogs, email, IAM & push notification campaigns, and social media.
You’ll partner with designers and video producers, the product team, growth marketing team and customer experience to create materials for our house of outdoor brands as well as our upcoming rebrand. The ideal candidate is someone who takes a holistic approach to messaging, and genuinely has a passion for connecting with their audience through written storytelling.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Steward the brand and voice for messaging and execution of integrated, cross-channel campaigns from concept to launch across 20+ Kalkomey brands.
- Partner with designers, freelancers, and stakeholders on content production and create messaging that aligns with our brand voice and resonates with our target audiences/personas.
- Contribute to content strategy, adhering to SEO best practices and participate in UX and wireframe exercises for website projects as they arise.
- Support conversion-driven copy for social posts, email, push notification, in-app messages, and landing pages Develop scripts and stories for videos: concept, copy, talking points and overall narrative.
- Partner with the Brand Marketing and Creative leads to define and maintain brand voice within our new brand as well as priority brands at any touchpoint; and advise the greater organization on brand and copy.
- Use data and analytics to make strategic decisions that help us reach content goals.
Qualifications
- Portfolio required upon application
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or similar degree
- 3-5 years of complex copywriting and marketing experience
- Experience writing for complex brands; experience developing a 0 to 1 product or brand or stewarding voice and tone at an organization
- Stellar research skills and the ability to familiarize yourself with new topics and industries
- Strong understanding of brand strategies and creative briefs across various media types
- Exemplary editing and proofreading skills, with knowledge of AP style
- Strong workload management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficient understanding of SEO, CMS, and the ability to utilize various tools such as: Ahrefs/SEMrush/Moz, Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Figma, Monday/Asana, and HTML
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with various internal and external stakeholders
