Your Impact
Under general to minimal supervision, provides survey support on projects to ensure construction compliance with plans, specifications, contract documents, and codified requirements. Tasks may include assisting with performing land surveys and conducting research on various construction projects of basic complexity which may include visually mapping/drafting legal boundaries and the potential placement of structures, utilities, and installations. Generates accurate and concise documentation regarding assigned aspects of the project. Ensures that responsibilities are delivered and adhered to with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards for design, uniformity, thoroughness, and legal compliance for survey documents.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Utilize survey instruments to perform field surveys for civil transportation projects.
- Perform GPS surveying.
- Utilize Auto CAD Civil 3D to edit field book files.
- Working closely and in collaboration with a dynamic team of experienced professionals.
- Out of the area travel, with potential of overnight stays, as projects dictate.
- Comply with safety guidelines and site-specific procedures which include but are not limited to, location data, statistical documentation, studies and surveys, and construction.
- Remain current in the latest survey knowledge, techniques, and practices.
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma.
- Minimum of 3 year of relevant post education experience in discipline with prior surveying experience with easements, rights of way, plats, topographic surveys, boundary surveys, property descriptions, and GPS surveys.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently under supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives.
- Must possess a willingness to learn.
- Ability to work outside in all climates.
- Requires availability to travel out of the area, with a potential of overnight stays, as projects dictate.
- Requires availability to work nights and overtime, as projects dictate.
- Must successfully complete and pass WSP's Motor Vehicle screening.

- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
- Experience with Topographic Surveys, Boundary Surveys, Construction Layout, Laser scanning & GPS Surveys.
- Experience with collecting field data in a line work format.
