Reporting to the Assistant Director of Residential Life – Student Behavior, the Coordinator of Student Behavior serves as a member of the Residential Life team and shares in the management of the program’s Student Behavior initiatives. The position requires frequent and meaningful interaction with residential students, parents/families, faculty, administrators, and community partners. The Coordinator has essential functions related to Student Behavior and incident response, as well as functions related to training and ongoing development, administrative and project management tasks, and other general responsibilities that support UHRL and DoSA, and their shared commitment to student success. The Coordinator manages Student Behavior initiatives for Residential Life, including conduct case management and sanction tracking for Residential Life. Implements a number of administrative functions related to the Student Behavior initiatives, including human resource functions and development and maintenance of organizational systems. Assists with the facilitation of training for departmental staff at all levels in addition to campus collaborators. The Coordinator responds to Student Behavior issues as needed and may be asked to serve in an on-call capacity at the discretion of the Director of Residential Life. Performs other duties as assigned.
The Coordinator position is a full-time, 12-month, live-off appointment.
This position requires a background check and Child Abuse Certifications prior to the commencement of service.
This position is assigned a hybrid work arrangement (on-campus and remote). The duration of this hybrid work arrangement is at the discretion of Temple University and the Department.
Required Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree
- At least 2 years of directly related student conduct or Residential Life experience.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Required Skills & Abilities:
- Exhibited work with diverse populations and developing inclusive communities and staff teams.
- Ability to manage multiple collaborative projects and systems in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work independently and efficiently.
- Strong interpersonal, leadership, oral, and written communication skills.
- Must live within one-hour of campus and be able to occasionally work evenings and weekends.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in Student Personnel, Higher Education, Counseling, or related field.
- Experience as live-in student staff or professional staff member
- Direct connection to the implementation of student conduct processes.
- Experience providing and facilitating training to student and professional staff.
- Understanding of a residential curriculum focused on facilitating student learning in a residence hall community.
