Job Description:

The Athletics Compliance Coordinator is responsible for promoting meaningful representation to both men's and women's sports and issues that surround both and support ensuring that there is equity in the sports programs of the university. This position will coordinate NCAA compliance related activities and efforts to provide services and programs which support and enhance student-athlete experiences and development. This position reports to the Director of Athletics. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Aid the Director of Athletics and Recreation in all decisions regarding policy, vision for the future and day-to-day operations.
  • Acts as a key decision-maker instrumentally involved with the athletics department.
  • Strategizes ways to support and manage gender equity and Title IX plans and issues.
  • Organize the annual All-Sports Banquet; implement the selection process for awards given at the Banquet.
  • Conduct an orientation program that provides information on Athletic Department policies and procedures for new departmental employees.
  • Provide oversight, guidance, and direction to all sports programs.
  • Serve on search committees for coaches, staff and athletic administrators as assigned by the Athletic Director.
  • Serve as lead compliance officer on issues related to athletic compliance and student-athlete eligibility.
  • Monitor and enforce NCAA progress toward a degree requirements.
  • Maintain constant communication with Head Coaches regarding student-athlete academics.
  • Required to attend and/or coordinate department attendance at University functions (Open House, ASD, NSO, Athlete Move-in, etc.)
  • Oversee all NCAA compliance meetings and issues for all intercollegiate athletic teams.
  • Create and present an NCAA Compliance meeting that requires student-athlete attendance and successful completion of all NCAA required paperwork.
  • May be considered for Senior Woman Administrator and represent university at conference level 
  • Responsible for moderating the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).
  • Responsible for educating and training coaches and staff on all aspects of the rules and regulations for compliance within the current national affiliation.
  • Serve as mentor for the cheerleading team.
  • Track the academic progress of all student-athletes and provide the necessary academic resources available throughout campus.
  • Organize a fall-athlete social during preseason.
  • Create an environment that acknowledges, encourages, and celebrates differences.
  • Performs responsibilities as Game Manager as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics and Recreation

Requirements:

Minimum Requirements:

Ideal candidates should possess a bachelor's degree, master's degree or equivalent related work experience and have 1 - 3 years of supervisory experience in an athletic department or student activities department, preferably in a college/university setting. Candidates should possess excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to work with time sensitive projects, work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task and remain pleasant and professional. Evening and weekend work is required.
