Description:
Provide leadership and coordination for Project HIRE program; provide direction and support for Project Hire's instructors, students, community partners and graduates.
Essential Functions:
- Customarily and regularly direct staff to maximize productivity and efficiency, including: directing job assignments, monitoring staff performance, counseling, training, assuring compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational mission, values, policies and work rules. Appraise performance and provide recommendations for hiring and termination actions.
- Recruit and enroll adult students in full-time, part-time, and Project HIRE classes; conduct orientation of new students.
- Prepare grant application annually and develop and present for approval the grant-funding budget.
- Administer grant budget, approving expenditures, and provide reporting as may be required in program reviews or District oversight.
- Participate in joint staffing sessions, working with DHS clients and community partners to properly place clients into programs beneficial to all.
- Counsel students in disciplinary matters, and provide advice on other issues such as attendance, transportation, and childcare; creating resolution to problems that pose barriers to successful client participation.
- Manage program curriculum, approve modifications, approve procurement of materials and provide general support for program instructors.
- Organize, prepare for and conduct monthly partner meetings with DHS to discuss and manage placements, attendance, program changes and program improvements.
- Prepare documents and reports, and participate in semi-annual program reviews with OKDHS/ODCTE.
- Maintain and update student records to ensure accurate and timely information is available at all times.
- Perform tasks and duties relevant to any of various roles or responsibilities assigned by supervision and determined by management to be appropriate for this position; comply with all policy, procedure, regulation and other communicated requirements as may be in effect for the workgroup or worksite.
Job Requirements:
- This position requires a minimum of two years work experience with social service agencies, particularly agencies serving disadvantaged adults; increasingly responsible experience as a social worker; educator; program administrator; counselor could be counted.
- Experience coordinating a program and/or administering a grant, including budget and finance activities is important.
- Valid state issued driver's license
- Bilingual is a plus
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Education or Social Services; Master's degree in counseling a plus.

SPMS
Hiring Range:
Dependent on experience, plus additional $7,200 annual compensation for salary-in-lieu of dependent benefit coverage.
