Purpose of Position: Operation Backyard is looking for a coordinator that will be responsible for visiting with families to assess physical needs of the home, completing qualifying documentation, and communicating with families on ways to better help them with the needs that are identified. The Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining administrative paperwork for the Operation Backyard program and being the first point of contact for many of the families applying for repairs on their home.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Conduct initial intake and assessment of families that have applied
- Engage with families throughout the application process
- Schedule & conduct in home site visits to determine the needs
- Track applications and maintain records using administrative systems
- Track data for the Operation Backyard program using metric tracking services
- Build relationships with social service providers and serve as a point of contact for those needing minor home repairs
- Conduct follow up interviews with families of the minor home repair program to document services provided
- Other duties as assigned

- Strong relational and communication skills, both oral and written
- Concern/compassion for at-risk populations in Knoxville
- Enthusiasm and willingness to work with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures
- Computer experience with Microsoft Office applications and data collection
- Experience with data entry and data tracking
