The salary range for this role is $75,000 to $80,000.
Position Summary
Specific Accountabilities:
- Customer Focus: Dispatch customer and terminal loads. Assist with rerouted trucks to facilities that can hold the material. Act as liaison between customers and carriers. Notify of changes in product availability, loading locations and changes in hours of loading. Provide BOL copies as needed and confirm deliveries as required.
- Carrier Focus: Collect required information for new carriers and send ACH setup request. Investigate and confirm accessorial charges (wait times, diversions, below minimums, overloads), reroute tickets and any changes to loads. Review weekly freight payments for accuracy. Submit check request with backup for carrier reconciliation. Update any changes in carrier information. Request proof of delivery, backup for accessorial charges. Manage certificates of insurance for carriers.
- Rail Focus: Tracking rail car flow to and from terminals and customers to provide the most efficient timing for loading and unloading to avoid demurrage. Manage and dispute demurrage when necessary. Reroute and shuffle cars to other locations and businesses when necessary. Manage freight bills and approve for payment.
- Terminal and Plant Loadout Focus: Travel periodically to terminals to assist in training on loading software, inventory management, and ticket tracking in the systems. Assist with training new employees on loading software. Ensure the latest orders are being provided for accurate loading and billing.
- Loading Software (APEX) Focus: Create freight zones and manage (entering new rates and expiring old rates updating as needed). Design accessorial codes and how they apply to freight pay/freight billing. Calculate fuel surcharge weekly and enter in the system and communicate with customers, carriers and CPCC management team. Carrier management in the system.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics preferred - experience in logistics coordination acceptable.
- 3+ years of related experience
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Must be flexible and able to balance shifting priorities to meet deadlines.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills and the desire to seek solutions.
- Must be a strong team player and gain the trust and support of peers.
- Exceptional time management skills and ability to complete assignments in a timely manner.
- Strong Computer Skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
