By leading the way in global research, providing assistance for people with ALS through a nationwide network of chapters, coordinating multidisciplinary care through certified clinical care centers, and fostering government partnerships, The Association builds hope and enhances quality of life while aggressively searching for new treatments and a cure.
POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Director, Operations - Donor Services, the Coordinator, Donor Services is responsible for recording and handling constituent data from The ALS Association through mail, email, and phone. The Coordinator, Donor Services scans checks, creates deposit information that integrates with The ALS Association’s accounting software, and completes the notification correspondence process. The Coordinator, Donor Services is crucial in ensuring efficiency and timeliness in responding to donor outreach and processing donations sent through the mail. This position is pivotal in maintaining The ALS Association’s system integrity and enhancing the donor experience.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Ensure the processing of all mail, checks, and cash.
  • Maintain the security of donations and checks.
  • Uphold the system of retention, rotation, and secure destruction of donation checks per Association policy.
  • Update biographical information in constituent records to maintain accurate constituent profiles.
  • Provide donor support utilizing platforms such as Salesforce, Classy, and Luminate Online.
  • Process checks and cash donations following special events.
  • Provide follow-up to constituent outreach through phone, email, or mail. Organize electronic and physical documentation records for multiple locations and departments.
  • May be required to attend occasional local association event(s) outside of scheduled hours.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Education and/or background in accounting or business-related experience totaling 1 year or more.
  • Relevant experience in a not-for-profit organization is highly desirable.
  • Salesforce or CRM platform knowledge is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication (written and verbal) skills.
  • Ability to work within deadlines, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and recommend best practices.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • This position is in-person. After the initial training period and depending on staffing needs, the position may allow for a minimum of 3 days in the office with the potential for 2 days of remote work.
The ALS Association's pay range for this position is $23.20 - $25.48 hourly.


The ALS Association has compensation ranges for various work locations throughout the United States, allowing us to compensate employees competitively and consistently in diverse geographic markets.
The above-listed listed range shows prospective compensation for this role; the appropriate range will be established by what is eventually determined to be the candidate's primary work location. Various factors, including the complexity and significance of the role, job duties/requirements, relevant experience and abilities, and primary work location, determine individual compensation. Compensation ranges are evaluated and typically adjusted on a regular basis. Offers are made within the compensation range that is in effect at the time of the job offer.

The Association may, at its discretion, offer merit-based increases tied to individual performance. The benefits listed may differ depending on employment status with the Association.
