Job Description: Cook
Reports to: Director of Preschool Ministry
Classification: Part-time Non-exempt 25 HRS per week
Summary: This position is responsible for the preparation of healthy and delicious meals and snacks for the Preschool, assigned dinners for the Church, and the cleaning and maintenance of the kitchen equipment.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Plan, prepare, and cook healthy and delicious meals for children that meet proper nutritional requirements.
2. Prepare food according to principles of proper food handling and preparation, sanitation, and service.
3. Order and purchase food and supplies to maintain appropriate inventory levels while working within the set budget.
4. Prepare and distribute a monthly menu to school parents and staff members.
5. Follow proper food safety, handling, and sanitation procedures to ensure food is stored properly.
6. Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, utensils, dishes, pans, and appliances on a daily basis.
7. Obtain required health permits.
8. Assist in preparation of the Church Wednesday night dinner and other special meals as assigned.
9. Be flexible and adaptable to the daily needs of the Preschool and Church.
10. Comply with the Church policies and procedures as outlined in the Personnel Policy Handbook.
11. Complete other duties as may be assigned by the Director of Preschool Ministry.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
1. Food handlers certificate is required.
2. Knowledge and comprehension of the rules and regulations regarding food preparation and service.
3. Physically able to lift and carry kitchen equipment.
4. Strong attention to detail with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
5. Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.
