The position is every other weekend, both Saturday and Sunday.

Wage starts at $17.50/hour plus shift differential.

Minimum position elgible for mileage reimbursement and personal/sick time.

Position Purpose: Through the development of strong personal relationships, cooks are responsible for learning and, under the direction of the facility Executive Chef and the facility Dietary Clinical Coordinator, creating an environment that allows the dietary team to provide a dining experience that exceeds resident expectations.

Physical Requirements: Dining Clinical Coordinators/Executive Chefs in Training understand the physical demands their jobs require and realize they need to:

• lift, push, pull, carry, and move equipment, supplies, etc.
• lift a maximum of fifty (50) pounds occasionally.
• lift twenty-five (25) pounds consistently.
• be able to move and stretch in such a way as to be able to reach areas above their head and below their waist.
• go up and down stairs.
• bend, stoop, squat, sit, and remain active.
• see and hear well enough to communicate with staff, families, and residents, and read well enough to read recipes, manuals, etc.

Key Result Areas:

Culinary:

• Proficiently execute correct culinary methodology in the preparation of all foods and baked goods from scratch.
• Pre-prep and/or prep menu items for meals from standardized recipes.
• Expedite or, if needed, serve from the line during service.
• Follows written detailed instructions regarding the proper procedure of:

1) Cooking time and temperature for all hot items.

2) Proper equipment to be used in cooking.

3) Correct portioning utensils to be used for the service of menu items.

4) Correct plate and garnishing appointments.

• Responsible for managing detailed cleaning of prep area and equipment at end of shift with regard to written and posted side-work sheet.
• Assist in pot, pan, dish, cutlery, and utensil washing, maintenance, and daily cleaning of the kitchen area as needed.
