Controls Engineer

We are currently seeking a Controls Engineer, who has the same desire to prove that industry can do it! This role serves to design and oversee the implementation of custom-engineered industrial equipment across a variety of industries. This position provides technical design, project leadership, installation oversight, and overall support of electrical system architecture.

At Fives, we all have a part to play in achieving our common purpose. This role:

• Designs and integrates electrical systems for industrial automation per NEC/NFPA/UL requirements
• Programs custom PLC systems, including HMIs, safety, and I/O devices
• Produces well laid-out, organized, and referenced electrical schematics
• Creates layouts for power cabinets, selects components and sizes conductors for feeder and branch circuits
• Troubleshoots and debugs industrial automation systems
• Provides project management/leadership as needed
• Oversees and supervises the installation of electrical systems alongside mechanical engineers, purchasing agents, electricians, assembly technicians, and contractors
• Interfaces with customers at project sites during commissioning, acceptance testing, delivery and support

Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in in Mechanical/Controls/Electrical Engineering or similar
• 0-2 years of experience

Nice to have:

• PLC programming experience (ladder, ST, C/C++)
• Computer programming/IT
• Operation of CNC systems
• Familiarity with AutoCAD Electrical or equivalent
• Experience with servo/stepper motors and drives, camera/vision equipment, robotics

Compensation: The salary for this position ranges from $71,957.60-$93,121.60 annually, depending upon qualifications.

Due to the nature of our contracts, only US Persons are eligible for this position.
