Corporate Controller
Our dynamic team is looking for a hands-on, seasoned Controller with import and distribution experience. This position reports directly to the President/CEO. The Controller will oversee and manage the financial activities of the corporation, including preparation of current financial reports. The position works out of our Irvine headquarters to be an integral part of our energetic team and fast paced work culture.
Summary of Duties & Responsibilities:
- Plan, direct and coordinate all accounting operational functions.
- Manage the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated financial reporting.
- Full Financial Planning and Analysis. Responsible for gathering financial data for analysis and forecasting with respect to profits, trends, costs, and compliance.
- Prepare and close monthly and yearly corporate financial books and reporting, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow, forecasting and budget.
- Analyze KPI by department including net profit margins by customer, item, category, and companywide to ensure ROI meets corporate goals.
- Engage with cross-departments on pricing, purchasing, sales and inventory management to improve processes, drive profitability and cut costs. Report findings and recommendations to President.
- Work with external auditors and provide needed information for all reviews or audits.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
- Maintain and review internal controls and operations.
- Lead strategic projects with cross-functional teams.
- Budget preparation and audit functions.
- Manage all insurance and banking matters.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation a plus
- Comprehensive understanding of database and accounting computer application systems
- Minimum four years’ experience in financial management with an importer and distributor of consumer goods
