Responsibilities:Key responsibilities of the Controller will include:Prepare a complete financial statement monthly according to dealership guidelines and within the manufacturer's format and time frameEnsure that all manufacturer accounts, including warranty claims, rebates and co-op advertising are current and accurateEnsure floor plan transactions are processed in a timely mannerProvide process training for accounting staffOversee all day-to-day financial transactions for all storesReview the general ledger and scheduled accounts and ensure all issues are reviewed, investigated and resolvedReview the reconciliation of general ledger accounts with outside sources to ensure proper bank reconciliation, reserve accounts, factory payable and floor plan payableEnsure compliance with all applicable government finance regulations, including filing and/or maintaining required forms, taxes, retirement plan records, etc.Manage the dealership computer system to maximize utilizationMeet with the dealer to evaluate all insurance renewalsEnsures that all office personnel are using proper accounting procedures and maintaining accurate records and analysesContinually strive to improve data integrity and information reportingOversee the accounting team, including the DMV/titling teamPositive attitude, outstanding communication skills and autonomous spiritQualifications:Requirements:3+ years of experience as a Controller/ Assistant Controller in retail automotiveAccounting degree preferredExperience managing teamsStrong work ethic and professional demeanorAbout Company
