Full Job Description

As the Controller-Assistant CFO, you will assist in preparing statements that follow all regulatory and accounting guidelines under the supervision of the CFO. You will be responsible for identifying and preventing discrepancies and helping set up control systems. An effective Controller-Assistant CFO has good knowledge of accounting principles and is organized with a great eye for detail. Must be able to identify and resolve discrepancies for the organization autonomously. will have the ability to review and recommend best practices to improve the current processes and procedures of the financial close and other accounting workflows and will be responsible for the supervision and success of the accounting department.
Responsibilities

• This position is responsible for the following, including but not limited to:
• Experience with working with outside accounting firm for annual GAAP
• Audit of financial statement, balance sheet, and trial balance.
• Manage outside Tax accounting firm-provide info to tax accounting firm
• Prepare documents for tax and GAAP accounting firms
• Manage depreciation schedules
• Masters in accounting preferred
• Must have QB experience
• Assembling detailed financial projections and forecasts
• Prepare annual financial compilations
• Must be electronically organized
• Manage multiple cash bank accounts
• Manage journal entries, invoices, etc., and reconcile accounts for the monthly or annual closing
• Assist in the preparation of budgets or forecasts
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements in compliance with official guidelines and requirements
• Post/review journal entries
• Analyze Income Statement / Budget to actual reports and prepare variance reports
• Participate in preparation for the annual audit
• Help in the development of reports for management or regulatory bodies
• Review the companys accounting information to identify and resolve inaccuracies or imbalances
• Utilize accounting IT system to facilitate processes and maintain records

Skills

• Proven experience as an assistant controller or other similar position
• Solid knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulations
• Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial processes (budgeting, financial closure, reporting etc.)
• Understanding of data analysis and forecasting
• Working knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel) and accounting software
• Ability to prioritize critical tasks
• Multi-task

Experience

• Must have some IT experience
• Well-organized with very good communication and interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail and problem-solving ability
• BSc/BA in accounting, finance, or a relevant field
• Professional certifications such as CPA is a plus
• *GAAP: 1 year (Preferred)
