Controller Accounting Manager

We are seeking a Controller to join our team and serve as the leader of our Accounting Department.

This is a hands-on opportunity with supervisory and management duties. This position reports directly to the company CEO. 

The ideal candidate for this role is someone looking who enjoys running the day-to-day accounting operations and supervising a small accounting team. 

Position Responsibilities

·        Supervise the Accounting department, including obtaining an understanding of all functions within the department, cross-training and serving as back-up to the staff when necessary (AP/payroll, AR, and administrative personnel).

·        Management and performance of timely and accurate financial reporting and reconciliations

·        Manage all aspects of company financial reporting including monthly and quarterly reporting to owners, investors and financial institutions

·        Preparation of company budgets, including analysis of budget variances, reporting to management and recommendations

·        Assist with cash flow management

·        Maintain equipment inventories including facilitating periodic inventory count, evaluating new equipment and contracts

·        Generate ad hoc financial schedules and reports to internal management, investors and banks to use for reporting and analysis

·        Interface with banking institutions, insurance agents, collection agencies and other outside vendors

·        Assist with tax schedules and tax preparation including working with external CPA firm 

·        Ensure proper internal controls are in place and accurately followed

·        Promote within the accounting department effective workflow, high morale, active communication, and strong staff development.

Position Requirements

·        Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field

·        Prior experience in an accounting role at a level of Accounting Manager or above, including supervisory experience

·        Knowledge of GAAP, accrual basis accounting and financial reporting

·        A polished executive presence and/or experience in working with third party vendors, banking institutions and external accountants

·        Ability to operate and navigate PC and MS suite of office products at an advanced level

·        Advanced experience with MS Dynamics / Great Plains
