Job Description – Controller

The controller will be responsible for accounting transactions at the company, including bookkeeping, payroll, vendor payments, accounts receivable and benefits management. The controller will carry out month-end, quarter-end and year-end closes of the books. The controller will also keep an updated cash flow forecast for review with management.

Position Summary
Duties:
- Bookkeeping: daily review of AP invoices, banking activity, customer invoicing, cash receipts, tracking AR and notifying on past due invoices; vendor payments in supplier websites, online banking and paper checks, entry and reconciliation in QuickBooks. Submitting payments of any sales and use taxes collected.
- Payroll: process employee time reporting data, submit payroll, import to QuickBooks, remit benefits payments. Employee on-boarding and off-boarding.
- Books: month-, quarter-, and year-end closes. Submitting estimated tax payments.
- Reporting: workers’ comp audit report, 1099’s to suppliers and to IRS, 401k testing and annual report to Dept. of Labor, annual report to Massachusetts Secretary of State.
- Other similar duties required for company accounting and finance.
