This is an opportunity to join Daktronics and the dedicated staff of Control Systems Specialists (CSS) who conduct training sessions to educate customers on how to operate their displays and maximize the impact of their systems. These employees are trained in game day operations and support hundreds of live events each year. They provide customers assistance with personalized training to ensure they have a thorough understanding of their Daktronics Control Systems.Through this training customers gain the knowledge and understanding required to effectively operate their Daktronics system.They act as a trainer, consultant, and integrator for Daktronics Control Systems.
Where will I be working?
Daktronics offers the flexibility to be based from a U.S home office or a Daktronics office location.
- The Control Systems Specialist role primarily works on-site at customer locations.
- This position will require approximately 50-60% travel annually in the United States and/or internationally via ground and/or air travel. During peak seasons (Spring/Fall) travel increases to 80-90%.
- This role requires proximity to an international airport. Daktronics is open to discussion with various U.S. locations.
When will I work?
The schedule will vary and will include some nights and weekends depending on business needs.
- The Control Systems Specialist role supports customer events which can take place in the evening and on the weekends.
- Travel may be required on the weekend to conduct training at the beginning or end of the week.
- During non-travel times, you will conduct work during normal business hours.
Work life balance is a top priority and in office hours are flexible provided the CSS is fulfilling the business needs.
What will work look like for me?
Onsite Support
- Analyze, design, and implement solutions and train customers on operational aspects of their Daktronics Control Systems via in-person or webinar.
- Aptitude to quickly learn new products, advanced troubleshooting skills, and ability to analyze successes, failures, and improvements to ensure continued growth.
- Ability to build effective relationships with customers and adapt your presentation and teaching skills based on the situation presented.
- Represent Daktronics at trade shows, sales meetings, and product demonstrations.
During Non-Travel Time
- Complete project documentation and deliverables.
- Assist in producing training materials that include documented guides, videos, and training tutorials. These training materials are for company employees and/or customers.
- Participate in internal development meetings as a stakeholder representing our Live Events customers.

- A bachelor's degree is required. Preference for degrees in Education, Video Production, Broadcasting, Computer Science, or Media Studies-Communication.
- Ability and desire to learn and teach others.
- Experience with sports venue productions and broadcast graphics workflows.
- Prefer experience with control room, live event production, and programmatic scheduling.
- Knowledge of Daktronics products, hardware, and software used in the live event productions is beneficial.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Solutions-focused problem solver.
- Effectively exercise discretion and independent judgment.
- Organized and detail-oriented, strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Fluent in English, written and verbal.
- Physical requirements include the ability to work at a variety of heights, ability to lift and carry computers, control equipment, and similar items up to 50 pounds. Ability to distinguish and identify wire colors.
- Ability to travel by air and ground. Valid driver's license and good driving record. Motor vehicle records will be checked.
