Position Summary
This position is responsible for coordinating communication between patients and various Patient Assistance programs. Specifically, this position provides vital support to patients to enroll in available funding programs to support their therapy journey. The role coordinates with Benefit Verification and Patient Care Coordinator therapy teams as needed to ensure copay and foundational assistance payments are established to enable service to our patients.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Training

Required Knowledge, Skills & Training
- High school diploma required, bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of experience, 2-3 years of experience preferred.
- Knowledge and understanding of pharmacy benefits, benefit reimbursement, medical insurances and medical terminology.
- Requires interpersonal and communication skills to efficiently work with diverse groups of vendors and customers.
- Requires excellent organizational/administrative skills, flexibility and the ability to get things done.
- Ability to organize work, set priorities, performs duties simultaneously, and effectively function in stressful situations.
- Highly effective verbal and written communication skills to coordinate/provide information and care to patients and families.
- Highly effective interpersonal skills necessary to interact with patients, insurance companies and co-workers.
- Requires basic computer skills and the ability to use online calendars, email and components of the Microsoft Office and Excel.
Essential Job Duties
- Coordinate communication between patients and various Patient Assistance programs.
- Work with patients to complete the enrollment process in the assistance programs.
- Work cross functionally with internal departments such as Admissions, Nursing and Operations.
- Collaborate with reimbursement and billing teams to create/start the billing process with assistance programs.
- Maintain relationships and provides ongoing care/support for enrolled patients.
