The Corporate Supply Chain Department is seeking a dynamic and talented Contract Support Analyst – Culinary and Nutrition.

Under the direction of the Assistant Director - Value Analysis – Culinary and Nutrition, the Contract Support Analyst exercises responsibility for prudent management of commodities, equipment, services, as assigned, in accordance with internal policies and procedures. Executes contracts; reviews cost effectiveness; monitors compliance, and audits pricing with vendors. Works closely with the Corporate Value Analysis Program Directors on expanding sourcing initiatives.  Coordinates contracts that cross the corporation’s Acute Care and Behavioral Health facilities.  Reviews terms and conditions of local facility contracts to ensure terms and pricing are favorable and in compliance with UHS Legal specifications.  Collaborates with the facilities and all key stakeholders on every aspect of the department’s functions.  Demonstrates a skill set that includes both technical sourcing expertise as well as strong service excellence acumen. 

Key Responsibilities include:

Vendor Management

• Ensures vendor adherence to all terms and conditions in contracts and agreements.
• Gathers data and allocates rebates and incentives due to UHS facilities in a timely manner.
• Evaluates and prioritizes contract components for opportunities to improve contract benefits and/or reduce costs.
• Vets and initiates new and updated contract terms.
• Manages innovation in improving contracting processes, leading contract compliance, and contract performance.
• Facilitates quarterly business reviews with key supplier to ensure alignment of goals and progress related to key initiatives.

Contract Execution Management

• Ensures that UHS facilities comply and adhere to terms of the Sole Pouring Rights Beverage Agreement.
• Prepares and communicates monthly reports to the facilities reflecting their usage, compliance percentage, and opportunities for improvement.
• Intervenes from a Corporate Level to ensure supplier is coordinating business solutions and installations.
• Facilitates quarterly business reviews with key supplier to ensure alignment of goals and progress related to key initiatives.
• Leads communication and implementation of completed agreements.
• Addresses and resolves discrepancies in facility participation and rebate / incentive funding.

Maintains product, equipment, and purchased services knowledge applicable to the UHS facilities

• Keeps abreast of advances in technology. Searches for and investigates alternative sources of supply.
• Leads vendors / distributors in developing and providing appropriate equipment to facilities. Coordinates upgrades to minimize aged equipment failures and to keep current with customer trends.
• Maintains awareness of group purchasing contracts and ensures UHS is receiving the same or better.

Reports on contract savings and financial value

• Collects data to document cost savings and reports results.
• Ensures facilities are being charged to terms of contract and address deviations in a timely fashion.
• Contributes to the cost containment efforts by evaluation of prices, terms, quantity discounts, quality, and services.

Position Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 1-3 years contracting management experience.
• Broad knowledge of food and beverage initiatives and programs.
• Proficient with modern contract administration concepts.
• Strong leadership presence and Service Excellence Acumen required.
• Ability to analyze data and generate accurate reports.
• Proficient in computer applications such as relational databases, Excel, Access, McKesson PMM, Sharepoint, PowerPoint and other related software.
• Projects a positive attitude. Needs to be efficient and effective in communication, recovery skills, and work ethic.
• Demonstrated teamwork, written and verbal communication and analytical skills.

Travel Requirements: 20% US travel.  Travel may be required to assist/or convey UHS Mission, Goals, and initiatives at the local facilities.
