Position Overview:

You will play a pivotal role in 'futureproofing' our healthcare system and enhancing operational efficiency, particularly in integrating new technologies, services, and processes. As a Consultant - Business Transformation at Cayuga Health, you will support the planning, development, and execution of Business Transformation initiatives to achieve organizational goals and objectives through effective financial analysis and internal consulting. Youwill stay on the pulse of healthcare's emerging trends, contribute to designing and implementing new operating models, define comprehensive metrics for senior executives, and mentor colleagues in adopting new techniques and processes.

The Consultant - Business Transformationwill play a critical role in assessing System transformation processes, innovation, and venture initiatives. Leveraging a data-driven approach, this individual will partner with leaders across all functions to demonstrate enhanced strategic and financial impact for Cayuga Health System.

What you'll do:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Gathering and analyzing data models, deriving logical conclusions, and communicating recommendations that will help our clinical and operational leaders solve their most pressing problems.
  • Developing innovative solutions for operational and strategic changes in partnership with senior leaders.
  • Planning, operationalizing, and scaling new processes and functions within the health system. This is both a strategic and highly execution- and implementation-oriented role.
  • Supporting innovation, commercialization, and emerging opportunity activities through business case development and market sizing.
  • Supporting and partnering with operational leaders in ensuring costs do not exceed limits through effective budget management.
  • Evaluating current business processes, identifying areas for improvement, and recommending department- and organizational-level changes.
  • Working closely with stakeholders to identify goals, developing best practices for execution, and influencing stakeholders to support business objectives and projects.
  • Support the communication and delivery of business and financial data to leaders.
  • Preparing detailed financial reports and presenting findings to key internal clients.
  • Maintaining knowledge of innovative digital and technology trends in healthcare, and industry best practices.
  • Develop and monitor key metrics and ensure business data and reporting needs are met.
  • Continuously monitor and improve business processes and monitor tasks and operations to ensure follow through on actions plans.
  • Other duties as required for the role.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline, Business, Accounting, Finance or related field is required; Master's degree is highly preferred. Will consider a combination of formal education and proven successful experience in lieu of degree expectations.

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of successful, proven experience in a similar role; 7-10+ years' experience for a level II role
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in complex healthcare systems/hospitals; understanding of processes and terminology
  • Proven experience using various analytical/data platforms such as Tableau, PowerBI; experience using SQL or Python a plus
  • Strong command of productivity tools including Atlassian Jira, Microsoft Office, specifically advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Financial modeling proficiency
  • Ability to leverage GenAI tools to streamline processes and expedite reporting
  • Ability to use consultative skills to mentor and coach operational leaders
  • Strong written communication and presentations skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Analytical skills: ability to identify patterns and study information; to understand data analysis techniques and statistical methods, and to gain insights and make recommendations based on data.
  • Problem-solving: ability to be able to quickly identify problems and potential areas of improvement; to be able to think creatively and come up with innovative solutions that will add value to the customer requirements.
  • Communication: ability to have excellent communication skills in order to present findings from data to top management effectively; ability to listen and understand what business stakeholders are trying to convey and then communicate with them in a simple and explicit language.
  • Technical skills: comfortable using various technology platforms; ability to design critical business systems and assess them to understand how they impact the business.
  • Critical thinking skills: ability toquestion, acknowledge and test previously held assumptions, recognize ambiguity; to examine, interpret, evaluate, and reflect; to make informed judgements and decisions; to clarify, articulate and justify positions/opinions.
  • Data analysis skills: ability to take raw data and turn it into actionable insights.
