Consult Coordinator

Join the premier cancer treatment center on the East Coast- Virginia Cancer Institute, a well-respected, growing medical practice in Richmond, Virginia is looking for a self-motivated Consult Coordinator to work with our friendly and approachable physicians and staff.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for scheduling all consultation appointments obtained in the West End location; will act as a liaison between VCI and referring physician practices and patients to schedule new patient consults, non-established hospital follow-ups, Multi-D follow-ups, Commonwealth Infusion Services’ consults, and second-opinion patients within the practice; create new patient accounts in Centricity and mail new patient paperwork to patients with practice/physician information and instructions for upcoming appointments; obtain all necessary medical records from the referring physician, practice, or hospital prior to the consultation appointment; for Commonwealth Infusion Services’ patients, the Consult Coordinator will notify financial counselors and nurses within VCI of upcoming appointments and notify patients and referring offices of any authorization denials.  The Consult Coordinator will update and maintain the VCI consult log for the West End location.
