Job Description
Seeking a Third Shift Construction Superintendent to join our team! Responsible for meeting schedule, controlling costs, safety, quality and equipment on assigned project. Provides continuous hands-on field supervision of all production operations, including trade partners and other construction related personnel; directing them in the planning, scheduling, and execution of work on time, within budget, and with high standards of workmanship. Promotes a positive company image. You are the site leader on every project and is ultimately responsible for its operational success.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in Construction Superintendent or other related fields. Minimum 10+ years
- Knowledge of construction budgeting best practices and construction sequence of activities
- Good planning skills, including design execution, resource allocation and contingencies
- Great communication, problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Effective leadership abilities, like motivation, goal-setting and conflict management
- Organizational skills, including time management, delegation, prioritization and multitasking
- Familiarity with computer and mobile devices to include construction management software (Procore preferred but not required)
- Must be willing to work thirds shifts.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that projects are built to requirements and specifications established by construction drawings, building codes, and clients.
- Consult with architect, engineer, builder, selections coordinator, suppliers, trade partners, and clients on plan revisions and change orders.
- Monitor project progress schedules, critical paths for projects and trade partner schedules.
- Monitor project quality and cost control to ensure that projects are completed on time and meet/exceed expected quality and profit levels.
- Keep Project Manager informed of each project’s progress. Walk through project daily and maintain daily logs to demonstrate progress.
- Take overall responsibility for keeping sites tidy during construction.
- Schedule governmental inspections and follow checklists for inspections, quality control, and standard operating procedures.
- Develop and maintain strong and productive relationship with suppliers and trade partners. Communicate company’s quality and performance standards to each supplier and trade partner. Conduct daily work inspections to ensure that those standards are met.
- Order materials and supplies and schedule deliveries. Receive, inspect, verify and record all deliveries.
- Explain safety program to suppliers and trade partners, and make sure they adhere to them.
- Guide and direct suppliers and trade partners. Be willing to assist with tasks, when necessary.
- Occasionally install owner supplied material as directed by the Project Manager
- Communicate with clients and their vendors on jobsites. Answer their questions and ensure that construction meets their expectations.
- Conduct pre-closing walk-through with customers clients.
- Coordinate punch list work.
