Assistant Construction Superintendent
SJ CONSTRUCTION – LaGrange GA
The Assistant Construction Superintendent assists in all site construction activities and assist in supervising all field personnel as required to successfully complete the project on schedule and within budget. This includes maintaining the highest quality, supervising all field personnel, while administering good construction safety practices with all on-site activities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Project startup processes
- Thorough understanding of project specifications, plans, shop drawings and scopes of work.
- Assists in maintaining construction schedule, identifies and solves problems
- Explore and advise the project team on appropriate changes to methods, materials, schedules.
- Directs all field personnel to achieve completion of the project on schedule, within budget, with quality workmanship that conforms to original plans and specifications.
- Possesses ability to read plans and complete layout of project.
- Maintains positive relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers and other employees.
- Promotes job site safety, encourages safe work practices and rectifies job site hazards immediately.
- Ensures all company employees and contractors are adhering to the company safety policy.
- Instruct, train, and work with trade contractors and others to ensure compliance with proper material usage, approved construction methods, and operating procedures
- Use established supervisory and motivational techniques to elicit peak performance from all employees, suppliers, and trade contractors in regard to both quantity and quality
JOB DUTIES:
· Prepare daily logs monitoring manpower and work progress.
· Document work in place with daily photos.
· Reviews job cost reporting and assists PM in maintaining budget control.
· Reviews subcontractor scopes of work & provides feedback to PM prior to contract award.
· Establishes staging plans & manages site logistics.
· Collaborates with PM in scheduling the critical path craft pre-construction meetings prior to mobilization.
· Provides feedback of reviewed submittals for compliance & coordination.

IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- 2 + years experience working in the construction industry
- Previous Assistant Construction Management experience
- Strong knowledge of construction methods and safety law
- Excellent problem solving and customer service skills
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $30,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
