- Hold a safety and health certification/designation such as but not limited to CSP, CIH, ASP, ARM, CHST, OHST with at least 7 years of relevant Construction Safety and health experience.
- Have a Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management or related field with at least 7 years of relevant Construction Safety and health experience.
- Administer the Project’s Safety Program. Develop and initiate specific safety and health procedures in conjunction with project controls in order to translate policies and regulations into effective work practices
- Monitor compliance with mandatory safety and health laws, standards and codes
- Review, support the development of, and approve project specific safety plans as well as review and approve all Contractors’ Project Safety Professionals
- Manage project specific safety orientation which all project personnel shall complete prior to being allowed to perform any work on this Project
- Perform and document daily field observations of construction related activities, to identify and correct deficiencies and report daily
- Support the Construction Manager’s weekly Safety Committee Meeting
- Administer the program for contractors and subcontractors on site. Provide case management of all work-related injuries and illnesses in order to ensure that individuals receive appropriate care and support
- Investigate injuries, near misses, conditions and incidents to ensure effective corrective actions are implemented
- Maintain adequate records of pertinent data and compile the required reports on individual job occupational injury or illness experience
