McNitt is seeking Project Manager candidates to join our collaborative and diverse team for a public sector construction management opportunity.
Overview
Manages the planning, design, construction, close-out and project activation phases of new construction and renovation projects. Independently manages multiple small to medium projects and/or a single large project.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture.
- A minimum of 10 years related experience with an emphasis on mechanical renovation projects.
- Ability to work, problem solve, and multi-task in a face paced project team environment.
- Strong verbal, written, and organizational skills.
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office software and ability to use or learn various types of project management related software.
Responsibilities
Contract Administration
- Prepares Request for Proposals; manages Design Team and/or Contractor Team selection.
- Reviews contract documents at design milestones for programming intent, completeness, and constructability.
- Outlines regulatory requirements; manages the permitting, inspection, and occupancy process.
- Conducts regular site observations and prepares field reports.
- Conducts progress meetings and prepares meeting minutes.
- Produces professional written materials for distribution.
- Reviews all pay applications inclusive of waiver and/or certified payroll submissions.
- Manages project close-out process.
Cost Control
- Prepares master project budgets outlining all hard and soft costs.
- Prepares and/or reviews detailed construction cost estimates.
- Monitors, maintains, and updates project financial information throughout the duration of the project.
- Understands the contractor billing process; reviews and negotiates all change order requests.
Schedule Management
- Proactively manages project schedules to ensure on time completion.
- Develops critical path project schedules utilizing scheduling software systems.
Client Relations
- Maintains positive relationship with clients to increase potential for additional assignments.
- Assists with marketing and business development activities as needed.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
- Ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to move through an office and/or construction jobsite.
- Visual acuity to perform field inspections, use a keyboard, operate office equipment, and view a computer monitor.
- The ability to talk and hear.
- The ability to ascend and descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, etc.
- The ability to move across uneven surfaces and maintain body equilibrium to prevent falling on uneven or slippery surfaces.
- The ability to stoop, kneel, or crouch.
- The ability to stand for sustained periods of time.
- The ability to work in confined spaces.
- The ability to work in high places.
- The ability to handle outside environmental conditions including extreme heat, extreme cold, loud noises, fumes, odors, and dust.
- Mental abilities include remembering, reasoning, concentrating to remain on task, reading, problem solving, managing concurrent tasks, and the ability to understand and follow directions.
