Responsible for leading client service delivery, deploying internal resources and coordinating the account servicing needs of Lockton Real Estate and Construction (REAC) clients; This position works under the general guidance of the Unit Manager and in accordance with Lockton procedures. Position may be responsible for limited number of direct reports consisting of Account Managers and/or Senior Account Specialists.
This position involves managing a book of construction & real estate clients and requires a solid understanding of construction Project Risk-related coverages, including Builders Risk, Owner Controlled Insurance Programs (OCIP) and Owner's Interest Liability; Additional experience with ancillary construction project coverages a plus (OPPI, CPL, PLL, etc.).
Essential duties
- Understand client risk profile and their business objectives
- Design, negotiate and place insurance programs that appropriately cover client exposures
- Ability to evaluate various program structures and articulate financial impact to client
- Cultivate and enhance relationships with clients, prospects and carrier partners
- Facilitate effective regular communication with clients, carrier partners and account teams
- Prepare and facilitate client deliverables (presentations, reports, responses, etc.)
- Review and negotiate insurance program terms & conditions
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of insurance carrier appetite and market conditions
- Engage and deploy internal resources as needed (experts, platforms, solutions, etc.)
- Coordinate ongoing team activity regarding account service and completion of open items
- Ability to provide clear direction and act as leader of account team
Other duties
- Provide thought leadership regarding insurance strategies on new and existing business
- Provide strategic planning and consulting advice to clients and prospective clients
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of products and solutions available in the insurance marketplace
- Participate in formal presentations to prospective clients and carrier partners
- Serve as an internal Project Risk subject matter expert and REAC team ambassador
- Be a positive representation of the Lockton brand in the office and community
- Assist in the mentoring and development of REAC team members

- Willingness to expand knowledge and effectiveness by successful completion of extended insurance education (beyond continuing education requirements for licensing)

- Strong knowledge of Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Demonstrate professional, tactful negotiation and persuasion skills to achieve objectives
- Ability to advise clients on other Lockton services and insurance needs
- Personal presence to interface with top management of other businesses, representing Lockton in the highest professional manner
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in business or relevant industry experience
- Minimum of 7+ years of insurance industry experience Advanced working knowledge of Commercial Property/Casualty coverages and services
- Current resident-state P&C insurance license or ability obtain same immediately
- Relevant industry designations preferred (CPCU, ARM, CRIS, CIC, etc.)
- Ability to travel by automobile and aircraft and stay for more than one day and night
