What You Will Do

Gannett Fleming is looking for a Structural Steel Repair Inspector with Bridge Painting experience to support our growing team of Professionals in the New Jersey area. Our inspectors provide Quality Assurance oversight of contractor's workmanship in accordance with Gannett Flemings Quality Management Protocols, client's policies/procedures and referenced technical standards related to surface preparation, testing and coatings application of Structural Steel on bridge/highway related coatings projects in both shop and field environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-process and hold point Quality Assurance oversight on major bridge rehabilitation projects
• Must perform all testing/inspections in a timely manner and adhere to Gannett Flemings Quality Management Protocols (QMP)
• Complete daily inspection reports on a daily basis
• Represent the client and Gannett Fleming interests in a professional manner and appearance
• Be onsite during contractor work activities
• Report and take directions from the Resident Engineer

Requirements:

• High School Diploma
• NICET Level 2/3 or 4-10 years road/bridge construction inspection experience
• Bridge Inspector with Structural Steel repairs & Painting/Coatings experience
• NACE CIP Level 1/2
• SSPC C-3 - lead paint removal
• Rutgers CAIT Traffic Control Coordinator certification
• ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician certification is desirable
• Must understand comprehensive construction drawings, coatings specifications and referenced technical standards
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Computer literate including Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Windows
• Ability to travel and work flexible schedules including overtime
• Must be physically capable and willing to work outdoors, maneuver difficult terrain and pass a medical evaluation 
• Maintain a valid driver's license and reliable transportation to, from and around project locations
