AmerCom Corporation is seeking resumes for qualified road/bridge Construction Inspectors in Northern New Jersey on several multi-year projects. Construction Inspector candidates will inspect contractor operations on various road and/or bridge construction sites in order to maintain compliance with contract specifications and site plans. Candidates will need to communicate with the prime contractor, property owners, traffic control personnel, utility companies, and government officials from various agencies. Ideal candidates must have leadership experience and excellent communication skills, including the ability to handle conflict with diplomacy and tact.
Education:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Associates or Bachelor’s Degree – Construction Management or Civil Engineering
Experience/Certifications:
- NICET II, NICET III, NICET IV in Highway Construction Inspection.
- NJSAT, ACI Grade-I and TCC/TCP Certification.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in road and/or bridge construction inspection.
- Knowledge of AASHTO (NJDOT SiteManager) software.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
- Working knowledge of mathematics with the ability to apply mathematical formulas and engineering principles to determine field measurements and adjustments.
- Operational knowledge of field inspection equipment.
- Ability to maintain detailed journal entries and produce daily reports for pay quantity records.
- Ability to plot as-built quantities and mark as-built plans.
- Perform as-built calculations.
- Ability to work nights, weekends and overtime – sometimes last minute.
AmerCom Corporation will be hiring throughout the year. Sometimes one project may require a set of skills different from another - for example, some jobs require a NICET II with paving experience, while others may require NICET IV with moveable bridge experience. - Salary: $90k – $120k+ commensurate with experience
