Position Description: Construction Inspector

Ecompex, Inc. is currently recruiting a Construction Inspector to be part of a two-person team supporting the 20th Civil Engineer Squadron (20 CES) at Shaw AFB in Sumter, SC. The 20 CES is constructing facilities for the new MQ-9 Reaper mission and needs the candidate to provide construction inspection services on Shaw AFB.

Primary work location will be at Shaw AFB.

Full-Time, Salaried position. Approximately 40 hours per work week. Although flexible work hours are possible, core hours from 9AM-3PM M-F must be covered. 

Minimum Qualifications: Construction Inspector

• Must be a US Citizen
• Minimum ten years' experience in the field of construction management/inspection.
• Must be able to pass a criminal background investigation and a Tier 1 background investigation to be issued a Common Access Card.

Desired Qualifications: Construction Inspector

• Experience providing inspection of construction projects for the Department of Defense (DoD); preference for experience with the Air Force.
• Previously completed a Tier 1 background investigation with a favorable adjudication.

Required Skills: Construction Inspector

• Ability to use Microsoft Office suite of products (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Responsibilities: Construction Inspector

• Quality Assurance and Quality Control oversight of field activities in support of the Shaw AFB MQ-9 mission to ensure they are being conducted according to Air Force, regulatory, and project-specific procedures. Ensure that the resulting data are legally and technically defensible. Observation shall include documentation, photographs, daily construction logs, and reports of immediate health and safety hazards observed.
• Perform daily and Government-scheduled site visits and recommend corrective actions to the COR as required.
• Develop QA/QC elements for emerging technologies.
